Jersey Shore beats Wilkes-Barre 6-0 as Schlaeger gains shutout

Marc Schlaeger made 26 saves to complete the shutout and led Jersey Shore to a 6-0 win against Wilkes-Barre.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Wilkes-Barre faces elimination next time out.

Jersey Shore got the win behind a great game by Ilya Spektor, who had two goals and one assist. Spektor scored the first of his two goals at 19 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Shore. Spektor\’s next tally made the score 5-0 Jersey Shore with 9:10 left in the second period. Jersey Shore found itself down a man on Frederic Ampleman\’s roughing.

Jersey Shore stifled Wilkes-Barre\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Jersey Shore\’s offense rang up 40 shots on Wilkes-Barre\’s net.

Jersey Shore also got points from Alexandre Racicot, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Jersey Shore included Konstantin Mamedov, William Villeneuve, and Adam Skutchan, who each put in one. In addition, Jersey Shore received assists from Jiri Hajda, Travis Valvo, and Justin Apgar, who each chipped in one.

Wilkes-Barre excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Jersey Shore incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Nolan Bivolcic made 34 saves for Wilkes-Barre on 40 shots. Wilkes-Barre incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
