Late goal helps the Junior Senators defeat the PowerHawks 3-2

Benjamin Beversdorf scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Binghamton Junior Senators defeat the the Niagara Falls PowerHawks 3-2 in a home game at Hyde Park Ice Pavillion in Binghamton.

Stephen Minichiello had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.

In the first period, Walerowicz opened the scoring for the PowerHawks with a goal at 7:06 with helpers from teammates Minichiello and Villani. Gresham answered for the Junior Senators with a goal at 14:14 with an assist from Simmons.

In the third, Bogdziul netted a goal at 12:54 with a helper from his linemate Reifler. Beversdorf scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:16. Logar quickly followed with a goal at 19:38 with assists from Minichiello and French.

Binghamton’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Burgess as he stopped 17 of the 19 shots he faced. On the other hand, Burgess’ counterpart, Augustine, and the PowerHawks’ defense did not have such a great night allowing 3 goals in 24 shots.

This win brings the Binghamton Junior Senators’ record to (4-0-0-0).
