Reifler's hat trick helped the Junior Senators crush the PowerHawks 11-0

Ryan Reifler led the way with a hat trick as the Binghamton Junior Senators crushed the Niagara Falls PowerHawks 11-0 in a home game at Ice House Sports Complex in Binghamton. Besides, Brady Anderson posted a shutout, stopping all 8 of Niagara Falls shots throughout the game. The Binghamton Junior Senators took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Eric Melso and never looked back.

Michael Padgeon had a busy night with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Ryan Flanagan delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first period, Melso opened the scoring for Binghamton with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:17 with helpers from his teammates Bogdziul and O’connor. Espe quickly followed with a goal at 7:54 with helpers from Lamorre and Dearing. Flanagan put in a goal at 10:29 with assists from Reifler and Lamorre. Reifler netted a goal at 18:40 with assists from his linemates, Flanagan and Bogdziul.

In the second, Padgeon deposited a goal at 1:35 with helpers from Gresham and Dzhangarashev. Reifler quickly followed with a goal at 3:13 with assists from Melso and O’connor. Simmons netted a goal at 10:24 with helpers from Dearing and Dzhangarashev. Reifler put in a goal at 19:52 with assists from O’connor and Bogdziul.

In the third, Smith scored a goal at 6:41 with helpers from Padgeon and Darling. Wilber deposited a goal at 14:24 with assists from Smith and Gresham. Padgeon quickly followed with a goal at 15:01 with helpers from Lamorre and Smith.

The Junior Senators’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Anderson’s shutout, as he stopped all 8 of the shots he faced. Anderson’s counterpart, Augustine, also had a big night, managing to stop 12 of 16, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Binghamton Junior Senators’ record to (3-0-0-0).
