Thomas' big night helped the Junior Senators crush the Kings 8-2

Clayton Thomas had a big night with 4 points (0 goals, 4 assists) as the Binghamton Junior Senators crushed the Skylands Kings 8-2 in a home game at Skylands Ice World in Binghamton. Also, the Binghamton Junior Senators' offense had a big night, peppering the Kings with 62 shots throughout the game. The Binghamton Junior Senators took the lead late in the first on a goal from Eric Melso and never looked back.

Gregory Simmons chipped in with 2 goals and Eric Melso delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Craig Garrigan contributed with 2 goals.

In the first, Melso opened the scoring for Binghamton with a goal at 6:17 with a helper from defenseman Thomas. Wichowski put in a goal at 15:48 with assists from Thomas and Kepple. Melso deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:29 with helpers from his linemates, Beversdorf and Beversdorf.

During the second period, Garrigan finally put the Kings on the board with a goal at 0:27. Darling answered for the Junior Senators with a goal at 18:54 with assists from Thomas and Becker.

In the third, Padgeon netted a goal at 4:32 with helpers from his linemates, Melso and Becker. Simmons put in a goal at 8:00 with assists from teammates Gridley and Thomas. Garrigan answered for the Kings with a goal at 10:33 with helpers from Ford and Scarpa. Simmons quickly followed with a goal at 11:58 with assists from Espe and Ardite. Gridley netted a goal at 16:47 with helpers from Gresham and Becker.

The Junior Senators’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Anderson as he stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced. Anderson’s counterpart, Yttereng, also had a big night, managing to stop 54 of 62, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Binghamton Junior Senators’ record to (14-3-0-1).
